*At the Kaomise Kogyo held at Minami-za every December, a list of actors is placed on the theater's fade. This list called "Maneki" is made of wooden signboard, on which actors' names are written in a Kantei-style calligraphy, characterized by a lack of space left around the characters. The Kantei-style expresses the theater's wish for little space left in the theater.
