1 Covering diverse project types
The JEC Fund supports a wide range of activities in the areas of culture, academic study, education, and so forth contributing to international cultural exchange and international goodwill, of which the projects come in a variety of types including performances, exhibitions, and international conferences. Outside Japan, it supports Japan-related projects such as the construction of Japanese gardens and Japanese culture centers, the publishing of books, cultural exchange programs with other countries, as well as nature and human environment conservation activities.
Please note that the percentage limit and amount limit of the grant money are specified depending on the category of project type as follows.

2 Limit of the grant amount
The amount of the Grant is between 1,000,000 JPY and 10,000,000 JPY and should be within half of the total of the grant-eligible project expenses. The limit of the grant amount is also specified for each type of projects as follows.

If the GNI per capita of the country of the applicant organization is US$5,000 or less, and, if the Kansai Osaka 21st Century Association judges that fund-raising for half of the total project expenses not covered by the JEC Fund Grant is difficult, the applicant organization is also eligible to receive a grant exceeding half of the total project expenses depending on the following categories. (Please refer to the “Guidelines for Application” on the “Information on Invitation for Application” page for the details of the countries eligible to receive a grant exceeding half of the total project expenses.)
(1) Country where the GNI per capita is US$5,000 or less
Within 90% of the total of the grant-eligible project expenses
(2) Country where the GNI per capita is US$5,000 or less and an IDA (International Development Association)financing qualified country
Within 100% of the total of the grant-eligible project expenses
