Special Exhibition:
"Festival in Osaka ‐ Painted and photographed festivals"
Festivals of shrines in Osaka prefecture to which people offered prayer for fertility and prosperity in each season have been loved as local rite . Sceneries of festival are recorded in original paintings, pictorial offerings and multi-colored (Nishiki-e) and black-inked woodblock prints and, since the modern age, in photographs. The exhibition presents the culture of festival in Osaka through the works of painting and photography from the Edo Period till now.
