"The City of Renoir,Cezanne, and Utrillo, 1830-1930"

The exhibition, whose main themes are the city of Paris and the people living there, features works from the collections of museums in Paris. Paris was transformed into a modern city by the building of new bridges across the River Seine, by the creation of parks and fountains and by the construction of the Eiffel Tower, which was completed for the Exposition Universelle in 1889.
The exhibition shows how new styles of urban landscape and pictures of people in Paris were painted by artists who were either born in or moved to Paris. Some 120 works by Renoir, Utrillo and Rodin, including Cezanne's "Temptation of St. Anthony" will be on display in Japan for the first time.
